Friends, Shipmates, etc. For whatever it might be
worth to you: NATIONAL  PERSONNEL RECORDS
CENTER NOW ACCEPTING REQUESTS  FOR
RECORDS ONLINE.

The National Personnel Records  Center
(NPRC), has informed us about an improved
method of requesting documents from the
NPRC. As you know, the NPRC  provides
copies of documents from military personnel
records to authorized  requesters.

Their new web-based  application will
provide better service on these requests
by  eliminating their mailroom processing time.

Also because the requester  will be
asked to supply all information essential
for  NPRC to process the request, delays
that normally occur  when NPRC has to
ask veterans for additional information
will  be minimized. You may access
this application at:

http://vetrecs.archives.gov

Please note there is no  requirement
to type "www" in front of the web
address.  Additionally, this improved
on-line request process should  be used
INSTEAD OF Standard Form 180 from
veterans or the  veteran's next of kin.

1 - As most of you already know, we have
completed our move and are ready to serve
our Members and fellow Veterans.  We were
unable to keep our old phone number so we
are asking you to please note our NEW PHONE
NUMBER....045-893-3767.

2 - DAV-3 Website.  We are utilizing a free site,
however, the provider has warned us that we
need more traffic in order to keep our FREE
status.

Please visit our website at:

http://dav3philippines.8m.com/
  to:

    A.  Check if you have OPC Medications & Letters.
    B.  Utilize our Forum to post or read Veteran
         Related Information.
    C.  If you couldn't make a particular Monthly
DAV GMM then read the Minutes.

Please, pass this information on to other DAV
Members and fellow Veterans.

Yours in Comradeship,

Ray Jones
Sr. Vice Commander

News Rules for VA... AO Cancers & GWI

The new rules remove the 30 year limitation on cancers for AO  presumptive service connection. You use to have to show you got some cancers within 30 years of service.
see:  http://www.vba.va.gov/bln/21/benefits/herbicide/

also makes it easier for gulf war veterans with unexplained illnesses
and easier for nonservice connection pension if you have social security disability, especially those over age 65.
Takes away benefits from felons & fugitives and their families.

CRSC Update

6-11: Expect delays in CRSC application processing in the months ahead. Only a small percentage of` the 3,000 applications received so far are complete enough for the Services to process. It is in the retiree's best interest to delay the submission of the application until he/she is absolutely certain that all documentation required is included with the submission. Incomplete applications, or those with insufficient documentation, will further bog down the system and delay the overall process, which is already fraught with delays.

CRSC is turning out to be more complex than anticipated, because of the requirement to align disability codes precisely with those embedded in the DFAS system before the retiree is paid. Other unresolved issues include individual unemployability (IU), and there are a large number of applications that include IU.

If you are one of the fortunate many that has not submitted your application, contact one of the large veterans organizations who will always review your application and give you advice without charge. We briefed the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion this week, and their representatives throughout the country will do all they can to assist you. If you have a complex CRSC application with multiple disabilities, unemployability issues or back up documentation problems, Crlegislation.com will be able to assist you on a fee for service basis. However, we are not soliciting for work in this area, and only offer it to retirees with complex cases who are certain they have exhausted all other options.
