CRSC Update
6-11: Expect delays in CRSC application processing in the months ahead. Only a small percentage of` the 3,000 applications received so far are complete enough for the Services to process. It is in the retiree's best interest to delay the submission of the application until he/she is absolutely certain that all documentation required is included with the submission. Incomplete applications, or those with insufficient documentation, will further bog down the system and delay the overall process, which is already fraught with delays. CRSC is turning out to be more complex than anticipated, because of the requirement to align disability codes precisely with those embedded in the DFAS system before the retiree is paid. Other unresolved issues include individual unemployability (IU), and there are a large number of applications that include IU. If you are one of the fortunate many that has not submitted your application, contact one of the large veterans organizations who will always review your application and give you advice without charge. We briefed the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion this week, and their representatives throughout the country will do all they can to assist you. If you have a complex CRSC application with multiple disabilities, unemployability issues or back up documentation problems, Crlegislation.com will be able to assist you on a fee for service basis. However, we are not soliciting for work in this area, and only offer it to retirees with complex cases who are certain they have exhausted all other options.
